By night Ellie Vyne fleeces unsuspecting aristocrats as the dashing Count de Bonneville. By day she avoids her sisters' matchmaking attempts and dreams up inventive insults to hurl at her childhood nemesis, the arrogant, far-too-handsome-for-his-own-good, James Hartley.

James finally has a lead on the villainous, thieving Count, tracking him to a shady inn. He bursts in on none other than "that Vyne woman" . . . in a shocking state of dishabille. Convinced she is the Count's mistress, James decides it's best to keep your enemies close. Very close. In fact, seducing Ellie will be the perfect bait . . .
My Thoughts
First thought that came to my mind as I am writing this review, Laugh Out Loud Funny! It was a delightful book to read. It made my insides happy.  It was a gem of a book. The author captured my attention from the beginning and held it until the very last page.  I was sorry to see it end..

The heroine, Ellie and James have been each other's bane of existence for years. From Jame splashing mud on her as a young ten year old- to Ellie drawing an ink mustache on his face, the antics started early and kept on coming..

Ellie had a hidden secret, by day she was the older sister trying to keep her family's finance in order and by night, she disguised herself among Society's rich and famous.

James is in search of his family's jewels- No, not those jewels-- the Hartley Diamonds. He is also trying to find the "mystery woman" while he has another admirer penning him love letters and stowaway in his carriage...

It was a enjoyable read, two enemies finding that they were each others one true love.. Sometimes you don't have to look far to find the HEA.

The secondary characters had me laughing almost as hard as Ellie and James did.Grieves the valet has these one liners that had me crying..

There were some points that needed some more background, but all in all this was a fun read. I hope you go and a purchase this book or maybe a friend could "lend" it.  I know you will find it as enjoyable as I did.

Here is a sampling of the banter between the characters....

"How many years have you been with me now?"
The valet sighed. "Almost five, sir. And it doesn't feel a day over ten."

"I do hope you are not perspiring on my gown."
"I shall cease all sweating at once, madam."
