My Thoughts:

I loved the character, Cat, in Leigh LaValle's The Runaway Countess.  I knew she had a story to tell and I am so glad Leigh gave her a chance to tell it....

I knew she was married but there was little mentioned about why he was no longer in the picture.. In The Misbehaving Marquess I learned that he left shortly after they were married. Cat hasn't seen or heard from her husband, Jamie, in 5 years.. As she is getting on with her life, Jamie suddenly appears one day out of the blue.... "He wants an heir".  Well can you imagine the commotion that statement caused!!

One of the things I loved about this book is the open communication, no wishy washy characters that keep everything in and the reader has to wait patiently for the "moment of truth".  Very refreshing.

Here is my favorite quote in the book....

“I promise to love you, Catherine, for all my days. To write you notes whenever I must leave, to tell you about my worries as much as my celebrations.” ... “And to trust you, even if I do not understand or agree with your actions. I pledge my heart to you until death shall us part".

“I pledge to love and honor you, Jamie, as my husband, my lover, and my friend. I promise to hold you foremost in my heart, even when we do not agree. I will share my life with you, my laughter and my tears, and cherish you always. I pledge my heart to you until death shall us part.”

As a novella, I find some books are rushed and abrupt, not the case with this book, The Misbehaving Marquess was well planned: the beginning, the climax and the ending was smooth and transitioned well. I am glad that I was asked to read this wonderful book and look **patiently** forward to the next book in this series, (Naughty in Nottinghamshire)... I believe, The Rogue Returns is due out early this year.... Stay tune I hope to have Leigh stop by the blog when it releases.
