In the Spotlight ~ It's All About Me

Today we are welcoming Heather from "It's All About Me".  Don't you just love the name of her blog?   The background graphics of her blog are nature inspired, very peaceful.

Welcome Heather!!!

When and how did you decide to become a book blogger?
I've been blogging for a while. I started this particular blog back in January 2004. Somewhere along the way, I began to blog about the books I read and how I felt about them. There was a time there that I stepped away from blogging altogether as it became harder to do so with full-time work and 3 young children. Now, I'm back into the swing of things. I started writing reviews again in October (or so) of 2011. I decided to do so because I love reading!

So far, what's the hardest part about being a book blogger?
Ever since I signed up to a few different book tour sites and started following other bloggers, there have been several opportunities to read and review several books. There are just so many out there that it is hard to decide which tours I want to participate! There are so many books out there and so little time!

What do you do when you are not blogging?
I work full-time and have 3 young kids (boy/girl twins that are 4 1/2 and another son that   is 3), so that's pretty much what I do when I'm not blogging!

How many followers do you have? How often do you post to your blog? How can people follow you?
Right now, it looks like I have 339 followers (including those through Facebook & Twitter). I try to post at least twice a week depending how many books I've finished that week and if I have time to do so. People can follow my blog by e-mail or via twitter (@heathercim).

For those new out in the blogging world, tell us what a meme is. Which ones do you follow?
This jargon is a bit new to me as well, but a meme is a way to share information to others. One meme that I follow and use is the "In My Mailbox" meme started by The Story Siren. As I get going more on my blog, I may include others.

You have a catchy name for your blog, tell us how you came up with the name, 'It's All About Me'.
The name started as an inside joke with my friends from college. All of us jokingly said to each other "It's All About Me" when discussing any matter of topics so when a friend asked if we wanted to start blogs on his site, I said I would take the name "It's All About Me". Since then, I've moved my blog to Wordpress when his site was no longer going to host the blogs.

Who are your three favorite authors?
This is a tough one. There are so many authors that I enjoy reading.

I really like Jeaniene Frost - Every one of her books I loved. I cannot get enough of Cat & Bones!

Charlaine Harris - I love the Sookie Stackhouse series.

And finally, Jane Austen. My absolute favorite book is Pride & Prejudice (followed by The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger).

Which author would you most like to meet (dead or alive)? Tell us more..
Another tough one. I'm not sure I can decide! It would probably be one of the above because I enjoy all of their stories so much!

How big is your TBR pile? How many books do you read/review in a month?
My TBR pile is HUGE. I have so many books that I have bought through the years from library book sales, the bookstore or Costco that I haven't read yet. Then I have the books that I have received to review. I am trying to get that pile down, but seeing all those books makes me smile!

My goal is to read and review at least 8 books in a month. I've reviewed 11 books so far this year and am working on 2 more.

Finally, if someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
My first thought is that it should be the same name as my blog, but maybe it should be "Found" - though that sounds a bit corny. I had trouble getting pregnant the first time around and had a blog called Desperately Seeking Baby that talked about all of that - it was a big part of my life. I ended up pregnant with twins. Then I found something I truly enjoy doing a lot - which is reading and reviewing books. I'm sure there are better titles out there. :-D

On A Personal Note:

I am currently 38 years old living near Seattle, WA. I have been married since August 1998 to Jon. Our dreams of starting a family came true when we welcomed Benjamin and Ella into our lives in June 2007. 20 months later, we welcomed Nicholas into our family in February 2009. We also have two kitties named Oliver and Sophie.       Facebook   Twitter
