Coffee shop owner Sadie Long has been lusting after her good friend Paul Williams for years. So she's more than a little intrigued when he invites her to a business meeting at Mavericks, the sex club where he works. While catering an event at the club is not quite the proposition she was hoping for, her business could use the boost. And she can't resist the chance to work closely with Paul in such a sexually charged atmosphere. Enter the club's hot owner, Josh, and suddenly Sadie's fantasizing about being part of a threesome.
Paul has always wanted Sadie, but never thought she'd see him as anything more than a friend. On the night of the party, he and Josh tempt Sadie to reveal her deepest desire—a desire both men are eager to help fulfill.

Giving in to her sensual side, Sadie enjoys a night of mind-blowing sex. But in the light of day, will she lose Paul as a friend, or gain him as a lover?
Book 1 of the Long Shots series.

My Thoughts:

This was the first book in a series of three.   I didn't love it, but I didn’t hate it.  The characters were two dimensional and not well developed.  There were many questions left unanswered, certain plot developments were glossed over, which would have given the book more depth.
Sadie came across as very insecure and very naïve; two traits that I don’t particular like in a leading character. Sadie has been in “lust” for her friend’s ex boyfriend, Paul, for 10 years; Paul has had similar feelings, neither one acting on them.  They skirted around the issue for ten years, this was rather hard to believe.  As close as they were, neither one of them....
knew or suspected the feelings each had for one another.

Paul and Josh, the owners of a sex club, are having an event at the club and have asked Sadie to help cater.  As they are discussing the event, one thing lead to another and Paul starts asking Sadie about her sexual fantasies. Sadie is not willing to share her hidden desires, not willing to risk the friendship she has with Paul.  The night of the event, Paul and Josh have a hidden agenda for Sadie, if she’s willing; they want to make Sadie’s fantasy come true. Will she be willing to risk her relationship with Paul, will she be willing to step away from her insecurities and bring in a second lover?  Won’t spoil the ending for you, you just need to read it for yourself.

The sex isn’t the main part of the book; actually there were very limited sex scenes in a book about a sex club. The scenes between Josh, Paul and Sadie were hot, not sizzling but enough for this reader to fan herself.

Josh, was just another example of how little the author did to develop the characters; who is he and what is his relationship with Paul? There was slight mention of a past between the two of them and it must be a special bond for Paul to include him in the threesome.

Ms. D’Abo didn’t spend a lot of time developing Sadie’s two siblings, Ian and Paige, she did give you just enough of a tease that you'll want to read their upcoming stories.

I received this ARC copy free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
