In the Spotlight ~ My Pathway to Books

It is time for another feature blogger who is "In the Spotlight". Today we are being joined by Tess from My Pathway to Books.

Thanks, Tess for going us today!!

When and how did you decide to become a book blogger?
It was on a complete whim! Last summer I was completely bored, so I did what every other bored person does, got on my computer. That day I set up my twitter account, goodreads account, and blogger. When I first set up my blog, it wasn’t even a book blog. It was just a blog about life and it was called Live, Laugh, Love (so original right?). Then I started reading a ton of books and wanted a way to keep up with my thoughts and that is where this madness began.

What’s the hardest part of being a book blogger?
The hardest part is getting your name out in the blogging community! The first few followers are the hardest. Also when I started off I had no idea what I was doing so trying to figure out what the little acronyms like ARC that bloggers use really confused me!

When your not blogging what other hobbies do you have?
Oh! I am the queen of hobbies. I am a scrapbooker, cake decorator, knitter, and anything else that has to do with crafts. I also really love watching movies, and I have an unhealthy obsession of buying $5 DVDs. I have over a 100 of them.

How do you keep in touch with your followers? Any tips?
I am a twitter-aholic. I actually should probably go to rehab for it, but I really love connecting with people on there! Also, a lot of followers are also book bloggers, so I try to visit their blogs often.

Tell us how you came up with your blog name,
'My Pathway to Books'.
When I was in Savannah, GA, I was looking at a bunch of art shows and noticed that I have this crazy obsession with Pathways. Every time I would see a painting of a path I would fall in love so I knew I wanted to incorporate that in my blog somehow.

The Balancing Act. How do you carve out time between school, your hobbies and posting to your blog?
This has got to be the hardest question of them all! I guess the answer is sometimes I just don’t. Unfortunately a lot of times I will use blogging to procrastinate on my schoolwork, but when I am being a good student, I try to not schedule reviews or blog tours around when I will have tests. I really try not to over-schedule myself.

Who are your three favorite authors?
                   Fisher Amelie
                   M. Leighton
                   Tiffany King

Which author would you most like to meet (dead or alive)? Tell us more…
Jane Austen most definitely! Well first of all her books have stood the test of time, and she is a brilliant writer! She is also the writer of my favorite book boyfriend- Mr. Darcy!

How big is your TBR pile? How many books do you read/review in a month?
Oh gosh my TBR, like most read-aholics, is ginormous! My exact TBR on goodreads right now is 152 but stay tuned it gets bigger every single day! I read about 9 books a month and I review around 5 of those.

If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
The Girl who Laughs too Much

On a Personal Note:
Hey I am Tess, the author of My Pathway to Books, which is my YA book blog, and I have just in the past year really gotten into reading! I especially love to read and promote Indie books. I am a joint-enrolled college student who loves Chemistry! I am a book nerd, kindle lover, and a read-aholic! I am a Princess because I am a daughter of the King of Kings!

Loved the interview. I don't trust anyone who has less than 10 books on their TBR list, so Tess has definitely met with my approval and I'm now following her blog. Thanks for introducing me to her!
